The sun sets behind the ocean. Use Standard Color and expose for the shadows (people), letting the sky blow out slightly if needed. The X5's dynamic range handles this well, but don't try to save both extremes.
LED bars and fire shows create mixed lighting. Avoid "Vivid" mode — it turns red LEDs into blobby messes. Stick to Standard or Flat if you plan to color grade. In post, lift the shadows slightly to reveal faces without blowing out the lights.
Pro Tip: If your footage looks too orange under club lights, set White Balance manually to 3200K-4000K instead of Auto WB, which hunts constantly.
Security at places like Savaya or The Lawn are strict about "professional gear." A giant selfie stick is an instant ban. Here is what works:

Filming allowed for personal use. No tripods. Drone strictly banned.
No long sticks inside the main deck. Wrist/chest mounts OK. No filming during certain DJ sets (ask staff).
Filming encouraged for social media. Tripods OK in designated areas only.
Handheld OK. No large rigs near the pool edge (safety).
Outdoors on the lawn? Usually yes. Indoors or on the main deck? Often no. Security sees the stick length and assumes it's disruptive. Better to use a wrist strap to avoid confrontation.
It's decent for a 1/2" sensor, but not amazing. Keep ISO limited to 3200 max. For serious low light, pair it with our night filming tips (similar exposure logic applies).
No. ND filters are for daylight motion blur. At sunset, you want every photon of light. Remove any ND filters once the sun dips below the horizon.
